On September 24, 2026, a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was held to discuss the socio-economic development of Andijan Region, support for entrepreneurship, and measures to increase household incomes.
🔝Current Status
In the first half of 2026, Andijan Region’s economy grew by 8.8%, industrial output by 9.2%, and investment by 8.9%. Services were the fastest-growing segment, expanding by 16.1%. Over the past ten years, 20 trillion sums have been allocated from the republican budget for regional development, while bank financing for entrepreneurship reached 90 trillion sums. An additional 6 trillion sums has been allocated this year to improve household well-being.

The region has a substantial human capital and production base. Around 95,000 students are enrolled in 12 higher education institutions, while 60,000 young people study at 59 technical colleges. About 10,000 students are pursuing engineering, energy, industrial, and IT-related fields. Drinking water coverage has reached 93%, while the development of Babur City is creating a new residential and business hub: 25,000 people have already relocated there, and 800 apartment buildings are under construction for another 200,000 residents.
