📌 Muzaffar Kholikov, assistant to the hokim in "Bobur" mahalla of Jizzakh city, regarding the "mahallabay" system in an interview to "ER".

✂️The editorial provides excerpts from the interview:

➖ Growing herbs and vegetables at home not only contributes to household food security but also helps residents save time and money. We have already begun implementing this project in practice.

➖ The main drivers of economic growth in our mahalla are the service sector and small-scale manufacturing. At the same time, we continue to look for new sources of growth for the local economy.

➖ It must be acknowledged that, in some cases, one of the main causes of poverty is a culture of dependency, idleness, and unwillingness to work among some citizens. If we can engage people in regular and productive work, the process of overcoming poverty will occur naturally.

➖ I believe that the institution of hokim’s assistants is one of the most effective mechanisms linking the population and the state. We work with households on a daily basis, directly assessing people’s problems, opportunities, and needs on the ground.
