So I think that is definitely a dynamic where the polls in summer, especially when a lot of Republicans were tuned out, may have overestimated Democrats in those rounds of polls. But what we're seeing, as you just pointed out, Republicans are starting to come home in some of these particularly red states. Last two polls out of Texas were good. Good poll out of Kansas, as you mentioned, and a couple other states where it looks like Republicans are starting to perk up a little bit.
LOTTER: So as we know, Tom, President Trump is not a big fan of the polls, unless he is, but here he is with Newsmax host Rob Finnerty yesterday at the White House. Take a listen.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP (ON NEWSMAX'S "FINNERTY") No, they're rigged polls. Don't forget, I won all seven swing states. They said I was going to win two, and I won them by a lot. They knew it was fake.
LOTTER: So, I mean, a lot of these polls, I think, have been trying to dampen Republican enthusiasm. But do you trust where things stand right now?
BEVAN: Yeah, I think I do. I mean, again, when you get down to the final weeks of the campaign, you got to look at the two most precious resources that are available are time and money. Where are the candidates spending their time, and where are they spending their money? And right now, Republicans are pouring money into these red states to try and shore things up in the Senate and in the House as well. And President Trump, as we mentioned, I mean, he is going to all of these red states. So I think the polls reflect that it's pretty close in the Senate.
And as Harry Enten pointed out, and you look at our Real Clear Politics averages, Republicans are behind by less than a point in a couple of these races, less than two points. So if there's a two-or-three-point swing in Republicans' favor, whether that's just Republicans turning out or the polls overestimating Democrats, Republicans are going to do – they'll do well. They'll win a lot – the majority of these races that are on the docket.
All right. Tom Bevan, we got to get back out on the golf course together soon. Absolutely.
BEVAN: Anytime.
