Am I a 1% now?

Well, definitely not the 1% financially after the last year of training, but it was worth it passing my PPL checkride today.

Started ground school (community college in-person) on 9/29/25, took written 12/3/25, first flight lesson 12/26/25, solo 6/4/26 about 26 hours, and PPL 10/8/26 at 75 hours.

So took about 1 year at 55 YO with full-time job and kids.

Archer is $190 wet (used to be cheaper but gas went up) and CFI is $65. Don’t do the math for me; I don’t want to know.

Oral was last week but had to discontinue (after engine start) due to winds 13G19 at 50 deg relative, but could not have asked for a better day today. Cool, clear, and calm.

Looking back over the year now, damn it was a lot of work. 9 months ago I wanted to barf after steep turns, stalls, and unusual attitudes, but now I can do them all day.

Looking forward to instrument.
