Princeton University’s Board of Trustees has advised a campus committee to quickly dismiss dissociation petitions when broad consensus appears unlikely, while reaffirming a “strong presumption against dissociation.”
The guidance comes after prolonged campus debate over a 2025 proposal urging the university to divest from entities accused of enabling human rights violations linked to Israel’s occupation.
The earlier proposal was rejected after a consultation process that drew about 2,300 responses.
