US Sanctions Block Palestine Action Legal Crowdfunding

An online legal defense crowdfunder for Palestine Action's UK Supreme Court challenge was blocked due to US sanctions. The CrowdJustice platform cannot host the campaign because payment processor Stripe cannot process transactions for the group under 2001 counter-terrorism powers.

Co-founder Huda Ammori is challenging the UK government's proscription. After the Court of Appeal overturned a High Court ruling that found the ban unlawful, the case moves to the Supreme Court in November.

Ammori stated that Palestine Action faces harsher sanctions than Israel, and that thousands of people are facing jail for holding placards.
