🔬 PTU Research on Cervical Cancer Screening Presented at International Conference

PTU Professor Ulugbek Mirzaev presented research on HPV screening in Karakalpakstan at the 16th International Conference “Biologically Active Compounds: From Chemistry to Medicine,” organised by the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

📊 Key finding: Following treatment, the proportion of women with high-grade precancerous lesions decreased from approximately two-thirds to 12% at follow-up.

🧬 The findings highlight the role of HPV screening in early detection and cervical cancer prevention in Uzbekistan.

Minister of Health Scholarship for PTU Students!

Applications are now open for the Minister of Health Scholarship Competition 2026/2027.

✅ Second-year undergraduate students enrolled in Life Sciences programmes at PTU are eligible to participate.

🏆 Scholarship Amount: A monthly payment equivalent to three times Uzbekistan’s Base Calculation Amount (BCA).

📌 Eligibility Requirements:

• Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan
• Full-time student status
• An average academic score of at least 86 over the last two semesters
• No outstanding academic debts or active disciplinary sanctions

📄 Required Documents:

• CV (résumé) and academic transcript
• Portfolio of research, innovation, and community activities
• Reference letter from the Head of Department and a foreign language certificate
• Certificate confirming the absence of outstanding academic debts and disciplinary sanctions
• Project proposal focused on developing Uzbekistan’s healthcare system

📚 JNCI Cancer Spectrum is a Q1 open-access journal with an Impact Factor of 4.8, indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, and the Web of Science Core Collection.

🔬 PTU at the STEM Festival

PTU joined this year’s STEM Festival at the Lyceum of the Tashkent State Medical University.

🧪 Our Science and Information Technology team brought an interactive booth with microscopes, specimens and experiments, giving school students a closer look at STEM and PTU.
