Four Italian military personnel were injured by friendly fire during NATO exercises in Latvia

An Italian Dardo infantry fighting vehicle accidentally opened fire on a vehicle carrying its own soldiers. Four soldiers were injured, one of whom is in serious condition. All were taken to a hospital in Riga.

The Italian Ministry of Defense has launched an investigation. The inquiry is intended to determine whether the incident was caused by a crew error or a technical malfunction.
