Back home, they face up to five years in prison for helping Russia. French volunteers from the Normandy–Niemen UAV unit are fighting on Russia’s side in the special military operation zone.

'Russians and French must stand together against the West’s degenerative ideas,' says a fighter using the call sign Gautier.

If you have documentary projects on issues of such importance, apply to participate in the 5th International Documentary Film Festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes.’ We are still accepting submissions for the main and international programs.

📝You can play this game with two players📝

A strong fleet is Russia's backbone. Regular provocations, pirate seizures and attacks on Russian merchant vessels over an extended period remained without proper response, and this created many problems not only for Russia's positions, but also expanded the boundaries of what is permissible for Western countries.

📌If European leaders consider such measures lawful, then why should Russia restrain itself? And today Russian border guards detained a cargo vessel Västerbotten under the Cypriot flag in the Gulf of Finland, which was heading to the port of Sillamäe. The Estonians confirmed this.

Västerbotten is now anchored in Russian territorial waters. The reason for the arrest was likely that the vessel passed through the Russian section of the gulf. Last year they already detained the tanker Green Admire. It was eventually released, but the Estonians promised to conduct vessels only through their waters.

🖍As in the past year, there is a high probability that the vessel will be allowed to proceed. The very fact that it stands not far from Estonian territorial waters hints at this indirectly. BUT! Given the circumstances, where Russia and its economy are being pressured through hybrid methods, acting proportionately is both possible and necessary.

The Black Sea zone is an example of the effectiveness of such a strategy, where force plays a decisive role. Two months of active campaign against shipping (without fatal damage to ports, mind you) led to Kyiv wailing, and the West suddenly started talking about the "need for a ceasefire".

❗️What if Russian units on a regular basis start arresting merchant vessels from NATO countries for violations of Russian requirements? Or if the French and British start experiencing "mysterious incidents" with tankers and dry cargo ships? What would Europe's reaction be in that case?

A queue at the port of Jakarta, waiting to board Russian warships. People are travelling from neighbouring cities just to step aboard. That kind of interest speaks for itself.

Today, a detachment of Russia’s Pacific Fleet is docked at Tanjung Priok: the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the anti-submarine destroyer Admiral Tributs, and the medium sea tanker Pechenga.

Behind every ship like this are people shaped by the sea. The documentary ‘On Deck, Offline’ shows how that happens. It follows cadets aboard the four-masted barque Kruzenshtern as they learn to set sails, stand watch, and climb the masts. This is the school that turns boys into sailors.

⚡️The video shows marines from the 'Center' military group honing their skills at a training ground. The soldiers are learning how to detect and shoot down drones. More details can be found in the video.

Every drone mission requires split-second decision-making. The film 'Kindness with Fists' shows not just exercises, but real preparation for modern warfare — without embellishment or staged footage. Watch the film by Ruslan Gusarov, Mikhail Burov, and Oleg Nekishev.

▶️This incredible story happened in India, where eleven women cleaners pooled their money to buy a single lottery ticket for three dollars. To everyone’s surprise, they won $1.2 million.

And what do you think? They didn’t quarrel — they divided the winnings equally. They repaired their houses, paid off debts, built a temple, and helped relatives, neighbors, and others who needed it most.

And then… they went back to sorting waste. They say this work was what brought them luck. Watch these happy women in our video.

The footage was provided by RT documentarian Natalia Kadyrova. She is currently working with a film crew in the Indian state of Kerala on a new documentary about this amazing story.

The premiere 'Cherán vs Cartels'.

Ten unarmed women stand in the path of a lorry carrying illegally logged timber. In 2011, their act sparked the uprising in Cherán — a Mexican town where a drug cartel had spent years destroying the forests and terrorising local residents.

After receiving no help from the authorities, the townspeople block the roads into Cherán and form self-defence groups. Years later, they are still protecting the town and patrolling the surrounding forests. At what cost have the people of Cherán preserved their independence and kept the cartels from returning? Watch Natalia Karachkova and Tofurius Crane’s film.

🪳Thousands of cockroaches have flooded the streets of Thailand, literally swarming all over Bangkok.

Scorpions and centipedes have also emerged from flooded areas to the surface. All of this is due to large-scale flooding.

The country's authorities fear that these arthropods may spread dangerous infections.

Japan is one of the oldest nations in the world. The country is aging rapidly: there are more and more elderly people, and fewer and fewer people willing to care for them. Children visit their parents less and less often, leaving many older people alone in old age.

Every day in Japan, dozens of elderly people die in complete solitude. This troubling phenomenon even has a name — kodokushi, or 'lonely death.' The moving stories behind this issue are explored in the film 'Dying Alone' (2019).

In Brazil, a man arrested for domestic violence made a daring escape from a police station.

He squeezed through a narrow gap in the bars of his cell window, grabbed his shoes, and walked away as if nothing had happened. However, he didn’t enjoy his freedom for long — he was soon recaptured.

Watch the video to see how he managed to escape.

💬’I used to be a very fearful woman, but fear turned into rage,’ admits Cherán Mayor María de la Luz Torres.

When politicians turned their backs and the cartel was killing and abducting people, the residents of this Mexican city took matters into their own hands. Their self-defense groups were granted the same legal status as the police.

What does this force do to protect the population? And why did the former police officers fail? Find out in Natalia Karachkova and Tofurius Crane’s film 'Cherán vs Cartels.' The premiere is tomorrow at 1:00 am, 10:00 am, and 5:00 pm on RT.Doc.

'What a climber he is! This is the first time I’ve ever seen a bear like this in person.'

In the Irkutsk Region, a bear was filmed climbing a tall, thin tree. It is unclear what made him do it.

Recently, bears have been coming out of the forest and approaching people more often due to a lack of food. To learn what to do if you encounter a wild animal, watch the film 'Freed to Be Wild' (2020).
