Polygon locks 37 state licenses with Coinme integration

Polygon Labs completed its acquisition of Coinme, folding regulated U.S. money transfer services directly into the Open Money Stack. The combined entity now holds 37 state money transmitter licenses plus 11 exemptions, covering 48 states, and carries FinCEN registration as a money services business.

Four companies already live on the platform: Tazapay, Mesh, Toku and Kira are running cross-border payments, account top-ups, global payroll and USD settlement through the infrastructure.

The deal converts Polygon's payment layer from blockchain-native to dual-track regulated rails, binding the protocol to U.S. financial compliance at scale.

BNY Mellon and Citadel Securities settle Treasury repo in minutes on blockchain

BNY Mellon and Citadel Securities completed a tokenized U.S. Treasuries triparty repo transaction on a private blockchain, with settlement occurring in minutes rather than the standard T+1 timeline.

The test used digital representations of U.S. government bonds in a triparty arrangement—a financing structure where a third party manages collateral. Settlement speed improved dramatically by removing traditional intermediaries and manual processes from the workflow.

This marks a concrete step in tokenizing core fixed-income markets, moving beyond proof-of-concept into operational execution between major institutional players. 🔗
