Wild Kamchatka in the paintings of Evgenia Polyudova

The animal paintings by contemporary artist Evgenia Polyudova pulse with raw energy. Bears, foxes, and orcas emerge through thick, textured oil strokes that straddle impressionism and expressionism. Rather than focusing on clinical anatomy, the artist captures character — the tension of the hunt, the power of predators, and the grandeur of wilderness against volcanic landscapes.
