Hundreds of Stelco workers get dumped, and suddenly Mark Carney is performing outrage over a takeover his own political class waved through. Cleveland-Cliffs bought Stelco for $3.4 billion in 2024 with binding promises to keep union jobs for five years, as reported. Now Carney says workers were betrayed. Yes, betrayed by the company, but also by Ottawa’s permanent genius class that keeps selling strategic Canadian industry to foreign owners, then acting shocked when those owners serve American interests.

Carney talks about defending jobs and respecting sovereignty while Canada still has no leverage, no serious industrial shield, and no spine to answer Trump’s insults.
