Funny how quickly a supposedly safe rural seat becomes vulnerable once the permanent capital class smells weakness.

Meanwhile Mark Carney’s Liberals are picking off seats through by-elections and appointments, with Chicoutimi—Le Fjord already gone and Brantford—Brant South also up for grabs. This is what a soft, managerial political culture produces: endless seat shuffling while the country is hollowed out by mass immigration, sovereignty drift, and elite consensus. Voters outside the Laurentian bubble do not need more insider choreography. They need a political machine ruthless enough to defend the country they still recognize.
