🇨🇦 Refugee claimants strike out after Federal Court says their legal claim is AI fakery

Manifestly unfounded asylum claim, fake documents, fake case law, fake arguments — and we are still supposed to pretend the system is basically sound. Justice Roger Lafrenière did what Ottawa’s refugee-industrial complex rarely does: say no. The family of three lost after the court found their appeal was riddled with fictitious citations and nonsense apparently generated by AI, as reported. Even the underlying IRB finding was that the claim was clearly fraudulent and relied on fraudulent documents on central points.

This is the Trudeau-era asylum machine in miniature: endless procedural indulgence, scarce court resources burned, and everyone expected to nod along while credibility collapses in public. Then comes the lawyerly dodge about inadvertent error and wrong draft, because in Canada there is always one more excuse, one more motion, one more bite at the taxpayer-funded apple. Sovereign countries do not run immigration systems where abuse of process becomes just another admin hiccup. Canada does, then calls it compassion.
