That is the Trudeau-era formula in one snapshot: drown independent producers in loans, bureaucracy and delay, then act shocked when corporate consolidation arrives to clean up the carcass.

P.E.I. oyster farmers are staring at three to seven years of losses while Ottawa and Charlottetown offer the usual therapy-state garnish of mental health support and pilot-program jargon. Very touching. The real story is sovereignty at home: family farms and owner-operators get wiped out, bigger players with deeper pockets scoop up the wreckage, and another local industry becomes less local. Canada keeps subsidizing administrative class nonsense while people who build real economic value are left to hemorrhage cash. This is what elite governance looks like when it meets the productive class: too slow to save them, perfectly designed to replace them.
