As reported, PEI, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick signed a non-binding MOU to explore a single Maritime-wide operator supposedly working for ratepayers, not utilities.

Right, because arm’s length technocrats are always so wonderfully accountable. This is the same class of managerial priesthood that gave us endless net-zero schemes, transmission boondoggles, and wind-and-battery sermons while ordinary Canadians get hammered on bills. The real game is centralization: fewer local decisions, more regional control, more insulation from voters when reliability drops and costs climb. Maritime sovereignty gets traded for another layer of expert rule, all to service federal decarbonization dogma dressed up as efficiency. If the plan were really about affordability, they’d challenge the policy regime driving demand through the roof instead of building another unelected machine to administer the decline.
