Alberta moves to restrict gender drugs and procedures for minors, and Saddle Lake Cree Nation openly signals it will ignore the law anyway, as reported. That is the real Canadian regime in one tidy snapshot: endless lectures about rules, safety, and equity right up until progressive sacred causes are involved. Then provincial law becomes optional, children become ideological battlegrounds, and every institution is expected to clap politely while jurisdiction gets carved up for the latest imported creed.

This is what sovereignty erosion looks like at home. Not just Ottawa gutting the country from above, but a patchwork state where law is contingent on identity, activism, and who can weaponize grievance fastest. Danielle Smith is trying, however imperfectly, to draw one basic line around minors and irreversible medicalization. The response from the usual coalition is not debate but defiance.
