🇨🇦 Ottawa begged for interdependence, got leverage instead

The sharpest part is not that Washington is banning some Canadian imports. It is that Canada spent years gutting its own economic sovereignty, then acted shocked when the bigger neighbour used the dependency as a weapon. After the Trudeau era sold us post-national slogans, supply-managed optics, and climate virtue theatre, Canadians are left watching Mark Carney inherit a country that talks globalism and negotiates like a branch office. This is what elite misrule looks like. Ottawa was busy lecturing citizens about carbon footprints, DEI checklists, and the moral necessity of endless population growth while our trade exposure to the U.S. remained the one fact that actually mattered.
