🇨🇦 Identity politics did not fade, Quebec just stopped apologizing

The funniest part is the claim that identity politics has faded in Quebec while François Legault still built much of his brand on defending Quebec nationhood, secularism and French language survival. That is identity politics, just not the progressive imported kind Ottawa, the courts and NGO class prefer. As reported, the election focus has shifted to inflation, health care and the economy. Of course it has. When people cannot pay bills or find a family doctor, they have less patience for elite sermons about abstract inclusion metrics.

What is really fading is the media’s ability to shame voters into accepting borderless, post-national management as moral progress. Quebec understands what the rest of Canada keeps pretending not to see: culture, language and social cohesion do not survive mass demographic engineering by accident. The federal globalist machine calls that intolerance because sovereignty is now treated like a thought crime. Legault is no saviour, but at least Quebec still occasionally behaves like it knows it exists.
