For two decades before 2018, Nova Scotia rent inflation never broke 2 per cent. Now it is 8.7 per cent, after peaking at 14.6 per cent in 2023. Since 2018, rents are up 57 per cent in Nova Scotia versus 39 per cent nationally, as reported. And the expert class still wants you to believe this is just a quirky supply map problem because too much construction happened in Halifax instead of elsewhere.

Right, because the province was hit by some mysterious housing curse, not the totally predictable outcome of Ottawa-fuelled population growth colliding with limited local capacity. Thousands of new rental units went up and prices still exploded. That is what happens when governments import demand faster than communities can house it, then slap on caps and pretend the math will obey ideology. Low-income Nova Scotians get rent hikes of 3 to 5 per cent while income assistance rises by less than 2 per cent. Globalist population targets for Ottawa, displacement for everyone else.
