🇨🇦 Ten provinces, one country, and Quebec still needs permission slips to sell a bottle

Nine provinces signed the July 21 deal for direct-to-consumer alcohol sales. Quebec, naturally, is still hiding behind paperwork and election timing while its own distillers get fenced out of the national market, as reported. Paul Cirka of Montreal says Quebec producers cannot even apply to sell into other provinces while competitors build customers, mailing lists, and brand presence. So much for Team Canada when a bottle can cross an ocean easier than a provincial line.

The real joke is Ottawa loves preaching competitiveness, integration, and prosperity when it comes to managing Canadians, taxing Canadians, and importing endless cheap labour, but suddenly becomes helpless against its own internal trade absurdities. Dominic LeBlanc can issue stern little statements, Doug Ford can posture as Captain Free Trade, and Christine Fréchette can promise fixes after Oct. 5. Meanwhile, Canada remains a fake common market stitched together by cartel politics, provincial monopolies, and bureaucrats who can globalize everything except basic commerce at home.
