🇨🇦 Emergency declarations are not infrastructure

A woman is dead in Nova Scotia, roads are washed out, and the political class is doing what it does best: announcing a state of emergency after the damage is done. That is not governing, that is PR with sirens. The province says extreme rainfall hammered communities, as reported, but Canadians are supposed to pretend chronic underinvestment in drainage, roads, and basic resilience has nothing to do with it.

For years, Ottawa and its provincial subsidiaries have found endless cash for consultants, climate branding, DEI bureaucracy, hotels for newcomers, and every fashionable globalist vanity project under the sun. But the unglamorous business of protecting citizens, maintaining culverts, and hardening local infrastructure somehow never makes the photo op reel. This is the Trudeau era in miniature: government that can sermonize about the planet on Monday and fail to keep a road intact by Friday. Sovereignty starts at home, and a country that cannot maintain its own communities while feeding elite fantasies is being governed like a talking point, not a nation.
