🇨🇦 Health care inflation is now chasing groceries
Out-of-pocket health-care costs jumped 18.5 percent since 2022, almost matching food inflation, while the regime still pretends Canada has a functioning universal system. Dental and eye care are up 20 percent, because in Trudeau’s Canada you get lectured about equity while paying more just to see and chew. Even the official data confirmed health and personal care rose over 15 percent, well above headline inflation.
And why is this happening. Labour shortages, population growth, and strained services. Translation: mass intake without matching infrastructure, then austerity sermons when the bill arrives. For 20 years, health-care service inflation beat overall inflation 85 percent of the time, but Ottawa kept selling the fantasy that bigger government, more bureaucracy, and imported demand would somehow lower costs. This is the Trudeau legacy in one snapshot: housing broken, food inflated, and now basic health drifting out of reach while the political class funds pet programs and DEI admin. A country that cannot house, feed, or treat its own people is not compassionate. It is being managed into decline.
