That is the modern surveillance economy in one greasy package: harvest first, deny later, clean up only after getting caught.

And what does Canada offer in response. A privacy regime so toothless that even if a Canadian is in the database, the burden is on him to send in a fresh photo just to find out. Brilliant system. Your face gets scooped into a commercial lookup machine, leaked online, and Ottawa’s answer is paperwork and maybe a future court order that has to be chased through the U.S. This is what sovereignty erosion looks like in practice: Canadians exposed, foreign companies cashing in, and our institutions reduced to spectators with clipboards.
