π¨π¦ 11,000 lightning strikes, and Ottawa still thinks taxes stop fire
B.C. got hammered with 11,000 lightning strikes and wildfires surged, as reported. Reality check: forests burn, weather happens, and nature does not read federal climate press releases. Yet every fire season gets repackaged into the same sanctimonious sermon about carbon guilt, more bureaucracy, and more control from the people who cannot keep basic infrastructure resilient.
The real scandal is managerial rot. Canada can find endless money for net-zero theatre, consultants, and international virtue-signalling, but not enough seriousness for forestry management, fuel reduction, and a hard-nosed civil protection strategy. Trudeau-world loves emergencies because emergencies justify power. Meanwhile, provinces are left dealing with the flames while the national class poses for cameras and lectures taxpayers about their pickup trucks. A sovereign country protects its land first and moralizes later. Ours prefers climate pageantry over competence, then acts shocked when lightning starts fires in a forest.
