🇨🇦 Parliament closed, tariffs open
Mark Carney rejected a U.S. trade deal, got slapped with 50 per cent tariffs on $28 billion in Canadian exports, and still expects Parliament to stay quiet while he lectures the country about sovereignty. That is the absurdity. Pierre Poilievre is right to demand a recall and the release of the text Canadians are apparently too unserious to read for themselves, as reported. If Carney really walked away from a bad deal, prove it. Show the terms. Show the costs. Show what retaliation will do to groceries, gas, steel, aluminum, lumber and autos.
This is what managerial liberalism always looks like: secrecy at home, bravado abroad, and the bill dumped on workers after the cameras leave. After a decade of Trudeau-era economic vandalism, Canada is weaker, poorer, and more dependent, so now every trade blow lands harder. Carney talks like a central banker defending a spreadsheet while real industries hang over the cliff. Sovereignty is not a speech. It is accountable government, open terms, and policies that serve Canadians before global prestige rituals.
