🇨🇦 Ontario wants the worlds largest nuclear site after poisoning trust for decades
Port Hope residents are being told to smile and trust the same political class that left the town with a radioactive legacy in the first place. Now Queen’s Park wants four small modular reactors next to an existing plant, part of an ambition to build the world’s largest nuclear facility in the area, as reported. Amazing how consultation always means ordinary Canadians absorb the risk while bureaucrats and energy planners collect grants, headlines, and virtue points.
The real lesson is not that nuclear power is bad. Canada needs reliable domestic energy, not green cult fantasies and imported dependency. The lesson is that governments burn public trust with secrecy, cleanup failures, and top-down edicts, then act shocked when locals resist the next grand plan. If Ottawa and Toronto cared about sovereignty and national strength, they would build energy policy around Canadian interests, transparency, and accountability, not technocratic steamrolling dressed up as progress.
