Saudi Arabia and Syria are discussing deploying Syrian troops to Yemen to support the Saudi-backed offensive against the Houthis, Axios reports.

Ahmed al-Sharaa is considering the request, with U.S. officials saying approval is highly likely.

The deployment could involve 10,000–20,000 troops, including forces from the 90th and 84th Divisions. The latter includes foreign Islamist fighters who previously fought under the HTS umbrella.
