📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s embassy in Baku has rejected allegations by an Azerbaijani non-governmental organization linking Iran to issues surrounding school dress codes in Azerbaijan, urging the need to avoid unnecessary tensions in friendly relations between the two neighbors.
In a statement on Wednesday, the embassy dismissed as baseless claims made by the National Forum of Azerbaijani NGOs (Milli QHT Forumu), expressing surprise at attempts to involve foreign countries in Azerbaijan’s domestic affairs.
Following the introduction of school dress code guidelines in Azerbaijan, the NGO issued a statement on Sunday, calling on the public to remain vigilant against what it called foreign influence.
The forum claimed that some online sources and media outlets in Iran and several other countries were seeking to challenge Azerbaijan’s “secular model of governance and education”, describing such efforts as attempts to fuel religious and social divisions in the country.
