📌 Tehran, IRNA – Mohammad Jafar Ghaempanah, vice president for executive affairs, says no negotiations would take place without approval from the Supreme National Security Council and final authorization from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
Speaking at a meeting with intellectuals and political, social and cultural activists in Tabriz, during his visit to East Azerbaijan Province on Wednesday, Ghaempanah rejected the idea of a choice between war and negotiations.
He said decisions on such matters must be made by the Supreme National Security Council, with final approval resting with the Leader.
Ghaempanah said some groups argued that Iran should continue fighting and reject any negotiations or peace efforts, while some others advocated unconditional surrender, adding that neither position reflected the approach of the country’s leadership.
He said decisions should instead be guided by what would preserve Iran’s dignity and national interests.
Ghaempanah said that Iran would launch missile strikes if ordered by the Leader and pursue negotiations if he deemed them appropriate.
