📌 Moscow, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, said Donald Trump’s allegations about the possible destruction of American cities are completely unfounded, unrealistic, and amount to nothing more than campaign rhetoric.
“Mr. Trump’s allegations about the possible destruction of American cities are completely unfounded, unrealistic, and amount to nothing more than campaign rhetoric,” Jalali told Russian media Tass.
“Iran’s military doctrine is absolutely clear, responsible, and based on defense and deterrence,” he added.
“We have never been the initiators of any wars. However, Iran’s capabilities and missile power are an indisputable, undeniable, and frightening fact,” he noted.
“Mr. Trump seems to be trying to shirk responsibility during his election campaign and intending to use this real deterrent as a pretext for resolving domestic political issues and settling scores with his Democratic rivals in California,” Jalali stated.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei in a X message said, “To frighten their own people, they conjure up an imaginary enemy in the sky to overshadow the real threat on the ground.”
“The real danger lies neither beyond their borders nor in the skies over Los Angeles and San Diego. It lies in a ruling establishment that has imposed an illegal war on the world, with global consequences,” he added.
“The US president has even described the destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego as “a very small price to pay,” Baqaei noted
“This is a textbook example of the politics of fear: frightening people with an imaginary threat, portraying the destruction of their own cities as an acceptable price to pay, and diverting their attention from the real danger,” he reiterated.
