📌 Tehran, IRNA – Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has mocked US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent over his repeated deadlines for Iran’s economic collapse, saying the missed predictions could earn him a Nobel Prize in Physics for proving that time could be irrelevant.
In a post on X on Wednesday night, Ghalibaf pointed to several predictions that had failed to materialize, including claims that Iran would have “nothing in 2 weeks,” that its oil wells would explode “in 3 days,” and warnings of an “Economic D-Day.”
“Time’s relative; turns out it could be irrelevant. Nobel in Practical Physics for Treasury?” Ghalibaf wrote sarcastically, referring to the US Treasury chief.
His remarks came after several deadlines set by the US Treasury secretary for Iran’s economic collapse passed without the predicted outcomes materializing.
The US has heightened its military activity in West Asia amid increasingly hostile rhetoric by American officials against the Islamic Republic.
Tehran has repeatedly warned that US bases and naval assets across the region will be targeted in response to any renewed aggression against Iranian territory.
