📌 Tehran, IRNA — The United States has failed to secure its allies’ support in its recent war against Iran, demonstrating the setbacks facing Washington’s regional strategy and leaving it increasingly isolated, Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Hamidreza Haji Babai says.
Speaking to IRNA on Tuesday, Haji Babai said US President Donald Trump’s continued threats, despite Washington’s defeat in the conflict, reflected desperation. A country confident in its power and ability to act would have no need to resort to threats, he said.
The legislator added that US allies had refused to join Trump’s acts of aggression against Iran, exposing Washington’s difficulties in advancing its regional objectives.
According to Haji Babai, US isolation and the resistance front’s steadfastness ultimately led to the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq, and US troops would eventually leave other regional countries as well.
The lawmaker said Trump had resorted to rhetoric to conceal setbacks suffered against Iran over the past year. He argued that US threats, attempts to draw Iran’s neighbors into another war and efforts to mobilize allies against Tehran would not serve the interests of Iran, regional countries or Washington’s partners. Despite suffering losses, the resistance front had maintained cohesion and achieved its objectives through asymmetric warfare, he added.
Haji Babai urged regional countries to unite against foreign threats, saying recent wars had shown that the United States could not guarantee their security. He said Washington is prioritizing its citizens’ security and exploiting regional oil wealth. He said diplomacy and war were inseparable, insisting negotiations must proceed from a position of strength. Iran should pursue its demands firmly, he noted.
