📌 Tehran, IRNA – Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, has attended the meeting of the Working Group of Senior Officials of the Caspian Sea littoral states in Avaza, Turkmenistan.
The event was held with the presence of the special representatives of these countries for Caspian affairs in Avaza, Turkmenistan.
The participants reviewed the latest developments and various dimensions of the phenomenon of the declining water level of the Caspian Sea and its consequences.
They also stressed strengthening five-party cooperation to identify the causes of this phenomenon and counter its effects and consequences.
One of the most important topics examined was the proposal to establish a Commission of Caspian Littoral States to address issues related to the declining water level of the Caspian Sea.
The commission will be formed with the presence of senior officials of the littoral states and will place on its agenda the continuous examination of the dimensions and consequences of the declining Caspian water level and ways to counter it.
The outcomes of the Senior Officials Working Group meeting will be submitted for final approval as a decision at the special and extraordinary summit of Caspian littoral state leaders, convened on Friday in Avaza, Turkmenistan, to address Caspian environmental issues.
