📌 Tehran, IRNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian says the Islamic Republic, drawing on the legacy of its people's power, is not afraid of threats and is determined to defeat the economic war being waged against the country.
Speaking at a meeting with commanders of Iran’s law enforcement force on Thursday, Pezeshkian stressed the need to address all dimensions of the war being waged against Iran simultaneously.
He said the people’s determination and unity helped the country withstand US-Israeli aggression and will also defeat the enemy in the economic war.
He noted that the economic war is less visible but far more arduous and severe than a military war that is visible, adding, “We are committed to serving the people with all our might and to defeat the enemy’s economic war.”
The president began his speech by paying tribute to the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, and the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, as well as all other martyrs, including law enforcement forces who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Addressing the police force, he said, “You have proven, in practice, that you are the country’s adornment and its fortified stronghold, and have brought honor and pride for the nation.”
He credited the force with thwarting the enemy’s plot to incite chaos and plunge Iran into turmoil after the military strike.
Referring to his visit to Law Enforcement Command buildings destroyed in the US-Israeli bombing campaign, Pezeshkian described the attacks as a clear symbol of the barbarism of aggressors who claim to champion human rights but resort to force and bullying.
He expressed gratitude to the Iranian nation for its firmness against aggressors and its cooperation with law enforcement and security forces, saying the people deserve appreciation for being present in the streets and standing alongside the system despite all difficulties and grievances.
He stressed that Iran would not fear threats or enemies as long as it has the people’s support, adding that the people must also know the administration is not there to rule over them but to serve them.
The president identified the country’s dignity as lying in standing firm against the enemy and relying on the nation, stating that national dignity lies in not bowing to the enemy.
A powerful nation ready to sacrifice its lives for the country will certainly offer the greatest support along this path, he said.
