📌 Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s judiciary chief congratulated the national astronomy and astrophysics Olympiad team on winning five gold medals and the championship for the third consecutive year at the international Olympiad in Vietnam.
In a message published Sunday night, Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei said the championship was a source of great joy and pride for the Iranian nation.
He described the achievement as a manifestation of the younger generation’s determination to master the most complex fields of knowledge and as proof that Iran has reclaimed its rightful place among the leaders of global scientific civilization through domestic scientific capability and the tireless efforts of its elites.
The judiciary chief said such triumphs come as global powers, in their misguided belief, seek to isolate Iran, yet the country’s youth continue to conquer the peaks of science one after another, angering the enemy and bringing joy to Iranians.
Ejei congratulated the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the education system, and all patriots on the achievement, and expressed gratitude for the sacrifices of the team’s coaches and families.
The 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2026) was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from September 25 to October 5, 2026, with Iran’s team securing five gold medals and the top spot among more than 66 countries and 320 students.
