📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Reza Salehi Amiri has proposed drawing up a five-year roadmap to expand cultural and tourism cooperation with Pakistan.
In a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Syed Imran Ahmed Siddiqui on Saturday, Salehi Amiri said the two countries should move beyond temporary arrangements and develop a practical, long-term framework for cooperation in culture and tourism.
He added that Iran and Pakistan could establish a joint cultural tourism route to introduce their historical, cultural and natural attractions.
Salehi Amiri also called for stronger cooperation between tourism agencies and greater use of media and social networks to introduce the two countries’ attractions.
The Iranian minister stressed that political and economic relations would gain greater depth when supported by both sides’ longstanding cultural ties.
For his part, Siddiqui called for the implementation of the existing agreements between Iran and Pakistan.
He also called for stronger links among institutions, provinces and cultural and tourism organizations, saying the two sides should work on concrete measures to increase travel and people-to-people contacts.
The Pakistani ambassador proposed holding an exhibition titled “Pakistan Through Time” in Iran to introduce different periods of Pakistan’s history and culture.
