🇪🇺 Apple opens @iPhone features to third-party accessories – EU only

📰 With iOS 26.5, third-party headphones and smartwatches can now access features previously limited to AirPods and Apple Watch.

Now supported:
• one-tap pairing
• interactive notifications on smartwatches
• Live Activities – real-time updates shown on the lock screen, such as timers, delivery tracking, or live sports scores

📄 The changes come due to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which requires major tech companies to open their platforms to competitors and avoid locking users into their own devices and services.
