• He has worked at Apple for almost his entire career. This is only the second company Ternus has ever worked for, and he’s stayed there for about 25 years;
• He joined the company as an engineer and is now Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering;
• Ternus was responsible for Apple’s transition to its own chips. Under his leadership, products like the iPad and AirPods debuted, and he has also been behind many generations of Mac, Apple Watch, and iPhone;
• Tim Cook called him “a brilliant engineer and thinker” who has “the heart and character to lead with extraordinary integrity”;
• Ternus is often described as the opposite of Steve Jobs: a strong technical expert who avoids bold public statements and is unlikely to be a showman.
