The meeting, organized by CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper, brought together military chiefs from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt. This was the first such meeting since the US and Israel began the war on Iran over six months ago.
Discussions covered the war on Iran, regional security, and the Strait of Hormuz. Cooper assured participants that US forces would remain in the region despite Iranian retaliatory strikes on US bases, and briefed them on plans to expand ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir briefed attendees on IDF operations on various fronts.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and Israel, with CENTCOM's assistance, are discussing possible Israeli support for Saudi operations against Yemen, including intelligence and surveillance assistance. CENTCOM confirmed the meeting, stating it hosted senior military leaders from eight nations in Germany.
