What happens next
• Custody: EVM Safe and Bitcoin multisigs will be set up as 2-of-3, with the same signers as the TON multisig. All addresses will be published for transparency.
• Capital deployment: Idle stablecoins will be deployed according to the IPS across stablecoin yield, the Opportunity Reserve, and Bitcoin.
• Bitcoin: Purchased through equal weekly tranches over at least eight weeks. no single-day timing decisions.
• Next report: December 2026, covering allocation, risk limits, performance, benchmark, and Fund value relative to HPO's market cap.

🔥 New Borrower Fee Mechanism: Buy & Burn HPO

One of the most interesting parts of Hipo’s smart contract is its permissionless validator selection.

Anyone can borrow staked GRAM from Hipo, participate as a validator, and return the GRAM + staking rewards after the validation round, keeping their committed validator fee.

We’ve now added a new borrower fee paid for each validation round.

Here’s what happens:
Validator pays the fee in GRAM → Hipo converts it to hGRAM → buys HPO from the market → HPO is burned.

The current fee is 50% and can be adjusted based on market conditions, community feedback, and ultimately a DAO vote.

Since launching this mechanism last week, around 140,000 HPO has already been bought from the market and burned.🔥

And there’s another interesting part

Borrowers compete against each other for the right to borrow Hipo’s staked GRAM.
The validator that commits to returning the highest staking rewards wins the bid.

They can even commit to returning more than the network’s actual staking rewards; meaning the competition can directly increase the rewards received by Hipo stakers.
And this is happening right now.

For the next few validation rounds, current commitments imply an expected APY of around 22–33% for Hipo stakers. 🚀

The Fund was built from the initial HPO sale (ILO) and Hipo Club seasonal claims. This capital was not allocated to the team and was never absorbed into Hipo's operating budget.

Instead, it was placed in a separate, publicly visible treasury, with the goal of putting this capital to work for the Hipo ecosystem and HPO holders over a horizon measured in years.

Now we're defining the rules for how that capital should be managed.

Hipos, the Hipo Fund report is updated. From here, we’re making the Fund a real priority.

Balances barely changed this period and the decline was mainly price-driven.
This is our first report showing both since-inception performance and a benchmark. These will be included in every report going forward.

📊 About the APY spike (37.66%)

TL;DR: The 37.66% APY is a temporary effect caused by a large withdrawal mid-cycle. One validation round paid roughly double rewards, while the next round earns no rewards. Combined, this works out to about 17.3% APY, which is in line with Hipo's normal yield. APY will return to its usual ~17.5% range after the next participated validation round.
Quick explainer on the recent APY jump: it's a timing quirk, not a change in real returns.

A large holder withdrew ~2M GRAM (about half of TVL). But the round already in progress had loans sized off the old ~4M pool. When it settled, rewards earned on ~4M of principal went to a pool backing half as many hGRAM, so remaining holders earned roughly double for that one round. The APY display annualizes the latest round, hence 37.66%. A real one-time windfall, not an error.

With TVL halved mid-cycle, we couldn't participate in the current round, so it will earn no rewards. One double round + one quiet round = ~17.3% annualized right at the normal rate.

What to expect:
- The display will stay at ~37.66% until the next participated round settles, then step back to normal in one move. Both are expected.
- From then on, loans are sized to the current pool and APY returns to its usual ~17.5% range.

Hipos, over the past few days we've rolled out several improvements based on your feedback and suggestions:

1️⃣ Hipo Bot Improvements
We've upgraded the Hipo Bot to share key protocol metrics directly in Hipo Chat, including TVL, APY, and token prices. The data is refreshed every 30 minutes and posted daily to keep the community informed.

2️⃣ Rewards Display Fix
Thanks to a report from a Hipo community member, we identified and fixed an issue that caused the displayed GRAM rewards to appear lower than the actual rewards earned. This was only a display issue and did not affect your real rewards. The rewards display is now more accurate and aligned with the protocol APY.

3️⃣ Staking Flow & UI Improvements
As part of our new staking flow, GRAM deposited during an active validation round is represented by an SBT that automatically converts to hGRAM when the round ends. We've also refreshed the design to make the process clearer and better aligned with the new GRAM and hGRAM branding.
