🔭 Hubble Completes 200,000 Orbits Around Earth
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has completed its 200,000th orbit around Earth after more than 36 years in space. Hubble has traveled over 5 billion miles and made more than 1.7 million observations.
It is now monitoring the gravitationally lensed Supernova Athena, whose reappearance could help astronomers better measure the expansion rate of the universe.

NASA has released one of Curiosity’s latest views of Mars as the rover celebrates its 5,000th Martian day. This striking “postcard” combines panoramas captured in the morning and afternoon, with blue representing morning and yellow representing afternoon.

🌌 Webb Finds Mysterious Worlds Between Planets and Stars

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope explored IC 348, a star-forming region about 1,000 light-years away, and found brown dwarfs with masses as low as twice that of Jupiter.

One of these objects even has a disk around it that could potentially form planets, challenging our understanding of how such tiny objects form.

🔭 NASA Discovers a Mysterious New Class of Cosmic Objects

🕳️ The Only Two Black Holes Ever Directly Imaged
So far, astronomers have released direct images of the shadows of two black holes:
M87* — revealed in 2019, about 55 million light-years away.
Sagittarius A* — revealed in 2022, the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way.
These images don’t show the black holes themselves, which emit no light, but their shadows surrounded by glowing hot gas, captured by the Event Horizon Telescope.
