На курсе CPE Writing мы, помимо всего, что непосредственно связано с экзаменом, иногда занимаемся creative writing. Хочу показать вам несколько упражнений, которые можно использовать с вашими учениками.
1. Flash fiction (короткие тексты, бывают от 10 до 100 слов). Представьте, что вы стоите на пустынной платформе станции метро (можно показать фотографию). Выберите одну из двух эмоций: вы или счастливы, или напуганы (happy or scared). Опишите, что вы видите, слышите, какие запахи чувствуете, что ощущаете внутри, учитывая выбранную вами эмоцию. (Можно помочь и дать лексику, которую можно использовать при описании). Чтобы не пугать заданием тех, кто не любит писать, можно задать лимит слов, например, не больше 30 слов.
2. А вот несколько тем про еду и гастрономию. Их можно дать как короткое free writing на уроке или на дом. Конечно, надо смотреть на интересы ученика. Некоторым моим взрослым ученикам тема кулинарии совершенно не интересна. А остальным можно предложить написать на такие темы:

1) Food is love.
2) Describe your most memorable meal (good or bad). Also describe the people who were there with you, the setting, the ambient sounds in the room, and how you felt before and after.
3) What were some of the food peculiarities in your family? Were there certain brand names you always used, or peculiar convenience foods that seemed wonderful back then and just plain odd when you think about them now?
4) What was the best dish in your mother’s repertoire? Did your father cook too? What was his signature dish? Do the differences between these two dishes say something about your father and mother’s personalities? Or something about the differences between men and women at that time?
5) Write about a time you visited your Aunt Nina in Tver or stayed for dinner with your friends and found yourself baffled by someone else’s food choices. We tend as children to imagine that our family habits are “normal,” until we get out in the world and see just how different every family can be. What surprised you at someone else’s table?
6) Our travel memories almost always include unforgettable meals or unusual regional dishes, from the pestinos in the south of Spain to khinkali in Georgia. Have you had fascinating experiences with regional or national foods?
