In the Quiet Garden ⛲
In the warm light by the garden gate a gentleman stands and reads in wait, the newspaper rustles soft in the breeze while vines grow quietly through the trees. A pipe rests gently in his hand, his gaze drifts out across the land, as though within the printed word the distant voice of worlds is heard.
Yet just behind him, in the green, a woman moves, calm and unseen a basket filled with earth and bloom, life’s quiet labor in the room.
And between newspaper, house, and tree rests time in gentle reverie: the world beyond may rush and roam but here, soft peace has found its home. 🌿📜
Carl Spitzwegs "Newspaper readers in the house garden" from 1868"
I want to take this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you, as my small space for German art and my own poetry has gently found resonance with 260 souls from all over the world. 🎨🌎🌟
Upon old walls the morning rests, the tower holds its crimson light. Past years lie quiet in timbered beams, wrapped in memory and time. Below, along the greening hills, spring wakes in gentle clarity. In white blossoms life is burning — new, as if it had never been. Like tender snow on fragile grass hope lingers in the silent air. Each bud is whispering softly of fresh beginnings, bright and fair. Even ancient stone seems softened, as though it knew from the start: After winter, cold and shadowed, young light returns to the heart.

The Winter ❄️
In winter’s soft breath, so silent, so wide, a village of memory and time does reside. Thatched roofs lie gently in frost-silvered sleep, as if dreams themselves chose their vigil to keep. Bare trees stand guarding the hush of the sky, with wooden hands lifted, unanswered “why”. The stream holds the heavens in dark, flowing glass, a whispering moment the seconds let pass. Two figures pause softly by water and land, their closeness a language no words could command. No motion is urgent, no sound needs to stay— just presence, just warmth, in the pale light of day. Here time learns again how to loosen its hold, no miles are measured, no hours are told. And somewhere in snow, wood, and stillness so deep, rests peace like a dream the winter chose to keep. ❄️
- Painting by Georg Höhn, German Snowy Landscape, 19th century.

In the Breath of Winter ❄️
"The path lies hushed in drifting white, as evening softens sky and ground. A bare tree stands in fading light, a silent guard where peace is found. The snow remembers every trace, each passing step, each fleeting thought. The world grows still in gentle grace, as time itself is almost caught. A distant bird, a quiet wing, moves through the cold, the fading glow. And in the hush of winter’s breath, hope rests where only silence knows."

As president of the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts and a close confidant of Adolf Hitler, he was largely responsible for the implementation of NS art policy, which pursued modern and avant-garde movements. After the war, he was interned and later withdrew completely from public life."
