Proposed by Sir Roger Penrose, conformal cyclic cosmology suggests that the universe undergoes infinite cycles of Big Bangs and expansions, followed by collapses into a state of low entropy. Each cycle, or “aeon,” is conformally related to the previous and next ones, suggesting a timeless continuum.
