🇭🇰🇦🇪🇸🇦 Cathay extends Gulf flight suspension

Cathay Pacific has extended the suspension of passenger flights from Hong Kong to Dubai and Riyadh through January 31, 2027. The airline said affected travellers could rebook, divert or refund tickets, while cargo resumption timings for the two destinations remain under review.

The move is Cathay’s third postponement since the US-Israel war on Iran began on February 28, when the carrier halted all passenger and cargo services to the Middle East. Cathay had planned a phased passenger restart from September, then shifted that to the second half of October, before later extending cancellations through end-November.

The latest extension keeps two key Gulf routes offline as regional security conditions remain unresolved. It also indicates continued disruption to Cathay’s Middle East network into early 2027.
