AR glasses Specs got shown live on stage

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel put on Specs and demoed them in front of a live audience.

What the demo covered:

▫️ Palm and finger controls: a menu appears on your hand, opened with a tap from the other

▫️ Snapchat - snap a photo with your fingers, make video calls where the other person sees through your eyes

▫️ YouTube right in the glasses, launched through the voice assistant

▫️ Shopify-powered AR shopping - place a product in your room at true scale and buy it with one tap

▫️ An official Harry Potter AR experience made with HBO

Specs are priced at $2,195 and positioned as the first fully standalone true AR glasses.

No confirmed ship date yet. But choosing to demo this live, not in an ad, is itself a signal: they're confident the hardware actually works.
