Snap Unveils Updated AR Glasses

The headline feature is Specs Intelligence: an AI system that analyzes app data, takes the user’s goals, habits, and contacts into account, and proactively displays relevant information in their field of view - no prompt required.

Other highlights include:

▫️A virtual screen for YouTube and HBO Max

▫️Spotify, navigation, real-time translation across 60 languages, and nearby recommendations powered by Tripadvisor

▫️AR experiences for basketball, developed in partnership with the NBA and WNBA, as well as soccer and golf

▫️Apollo 11 and Starmap experiences

▫️Connected Lenses, which allow two Specs users to see and interact with the same digital objects in the real world. Early experiences include dominoes with Jimmy Butler, chess, and table tennis

▫️The ability to use Specs as a wireless display for a PC or Mac

Snap also says Specs will not use facial recognition or continuously record audio and video. Whenever recording is active, an external LED indicator will light up.
