A russian war drone guided ENTIRELY by AI killed three ukrainian civilians during an attack on a gas station in the city of Zaporizhzhia, according to an investigation by The New York Times. This marks the first fully documented case where a Russian drone deployed fully autonomous AI targeted tracking to strike a site, killing civilians without a human operator making the final execution decision.

This is only the beginning of the techno-dystopia we are heading towards. When military and police forces largely consist of robots, these may be completely immune to any subversion and will have no inhibitions about shooting down anyone. Human control over the machine will not, and cannot be retained, yet we're still seeing the development of autonomous robots.
