Human beings have a fundamental biological need to go through a four-stage cycle to maintain psychological well-being, that is goal, effort, attainment of goal, and autonomy. This is called the power process. Modern industrial-technological society has disrupted this process by automatically fulfilling survival needs without requiring genuine personal effort, simultaneously stripping individuals of their autonomy through complex social regulations. The futher technology progresses, the greater the disruption.

Now imagine if through the continual advancement of technology, that process is removed entirely. Engineered human beings may be happy in such a society, but they most certainly will not be free. Humans will have been reduced to the status of domestic animals.

The technological-system still has a chance at surviving coming crises, a spontaneous collapse is not ensured. A revolution accelerating the collapse must take place in order to save humanity from losing their conscious.
